About Us

Greenlawn Homes is a Columbus, OH based business that was founded in 1947 by the late Floyd E. Younkin and his wife Mary Irene as Greenlawn Trailer Sales.
Today, Greenlawn is still family owned and with three generations of the Youkin family being involved in the daily operations; including Mary Irene who is 89 year of age.
Floyd and Mary Irene were both innovators in the manufactured housing industry. Floyd is credited with demonstrating to Redman Homes, the then-revolutionary idea, that a functioning bath tub could be included in a manufactured home. Additionally, Floyd and Mary Irene developed the first manufactured housing community in Ohio to have natural gas, curbs and sidewalks.
Floyd and Irene's son Ronald began working in the family business as a boy, taking a break only to serve in the Korean War. Ron and his wife Linda took over the Columbus company in the 1980s and changed the name to Greenlawn Mobile Home Sales, Inc. They expanded the company to included dealerships in Lockbourne and Chillicothe and manufactured housing communities throughout the state. Ron takes an active daily leadership role in the management of all his business properties, but he's never too busy to talk with customers and his valued employees.
Ron and Linda's son Brian is the third generation in this proud family business. Brian worked his way up by holding various positions before assuming his senior management position. Brian continues the family tradition as an active participant on various committees and other positions of the Ohio Manufactured Housing Association.
Greenlawn Homes is now one of the largest dealerships in the United States and is generally recognized at the oldest continuously operating manufactured housing company in the United States.
